Confrontation between artistic and commercial approach to graphic works is a long-term global problem encountered by every graphic designer. When working on individual contracts, every designer faces a decision to what extent to succumb to the pressure from clients when executing the task and to what extent to remain faithful to their own authorial vision. The aim of this thesis is both theoretical reflection of this phenomenon, as well as a sample of solving this problem in practice when executing a specific contract. Two versions of the annual catalogue for the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art for the year 2013 are a result of the work.
